This document will help you prepare your environment for the installation of your LobbyGuard Versa kiosk. Review each item and verify that you meet each requirement to ensure an efficient setup and installation process. Please note this document applies to installations of the standard LobbyGuard Versa. Please contact support@lobbyguard.com if further assistance is needed.
Physical Location: The LobbyGuard Versa measures 11”H x 9.6”W x 5.2”D. The location you wish to place the Versa should allow at least 4” of clearance on all sides. This space should be clear of direct heat sources such as HVAC vents, other computer hardware etc.
IMPORTANT: Do not position the Versa facing directly into a light source such as a bright light fixture or toward a window where direct sunlight is present. This will result in a shadow being cast over the Versa during visitor sign-in and will result in poor image quality for visitor photos. The Versa should be positioned to face away from light sources.
Hardware: If you ordered the optional single-spool visitor badge printer for your Versa the printer measures 5"H x 9.3" x 6"D. The location you wish to place the printer should allow at least 3" of clearance on all sides. The optional dual-spool visitor badge printer measures and 6"H x 8.0" x 7.5"D should be installed as per above.
Power: The Versa requires a single standard 110V power outlet and ships with a 20’ power cable. The optional visitor badge printer requires a single standard 110V power outlet and ships with a 5’ power cable. All components should be attached to the dedicated surge suppressor that is included with the LobbyGuard Versa to prevent electrical damage to your LobbyGuard product. Failure to use the surge suppressor will void the product warranty.
Data Connectivity: Your kiosk will be required to have a full-time connection to the internet for initial registration and daily use. The LobbyGuard Versa provides support for wired internet connectivity. A 7 ft. Ethernet cable is included. Depending on the nature of your LAN /computer network you may need additional configuration to complete your internet connection, including IP address settings and other details specific to your environment.
IMPORTANT: It is not advised to use WiFi connectivity with the LobbyGuard Versa. If you need to use WiFi please consult the LobbyGuard Technical Support team via email at support@lobbyguard.com.
LAN Connectivity and User Account: If you wish to join the LobbyGuard Versa to your LAN/WAN you may do so as you would any other PC. The Versa operates on Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. Note: it is not necessary to join the Versa to your LAN. The user account for your LobbyGuard Versa MUST have the capability to install software on the kiosk. Failure to follow this guideline will result in issues during software updates to your LobbyGuard product.
Firewall Ports and Server Access: The Versa communicates to LobbyGuard Cloud Services via firewall port 80 and port 443. Minimal network requirements are necessary for proper functionality of the LobbyGuard Versa, those requirements can be found here. The following servers must be made accessible / whitelisted for your Versa to properly function:

Antivirus, Data Backup and Windows Updates:
- Antivirus: The Versa does not ship with antivirus installed. You are free to install your standard antivirus package of choice on the Versa.
- Data Backup: All visitor traffic and other data is stored securely on the LobbyGuard Cloud Services and is subject to daily backups; no visitor or personal data is stored on the Versa hard drive.
- Windows Updates: The Versa ships with Windows Updates turned ON. You should apply the desired update policy to the Versa as you would any other PC in your environment.
