How do I turn on Contactless Sign In?
To activate contactless sign in, visit the Kiosk details page under the “Administration” section of FrontDesk. From there, find the “Contactless Sign In” option, select Yes, and click Save.
You must restart your kiosk after saving. A QR code will now display on the kiosk start screen. The QR code can also be printed from FrontDesk for use on signage.
How does a visitor start a Contactless Sign In?
Visitors can use the Camera app on their mobile device to scan the QR code on the kiosk start screen. The sign in process will open in the browser on the mobile device.
How do I turn off Contactless Sign In?

How do I create a new QR code?
If you wish to create a new QR code, visit the Kiosk details page under the “Administration” section of FrontDesk and click the “Refresh Kiosk QR Code Now” button. Restart your kiosk.
Any previous QR codes will no longer work, and the visitor will receive an error message if scanned.
What mobile devices support driver license scanning?

What do you recommend if the visitor is having difficulty scanning their license?
- Turn the mobile device to landscape mode
- Make sure the back of the license is well lit, without glare, and in focus
- Move the license closer to the camera so the 2D barcode is full-frame
- Place the license on a table or other flat surface with solid background color
What if a user is unable to scan their driver’s license?
Visitors who are unable to complete the scan from their mobile device will be directed to sign in at the kiosk.
Where do I collect my badge after completing a contactless sign in?
Upon completion of a Contactless Sign In, the visitor can pick up their badge at the kiosk where they scanned the QR code if badge printing is enabled in the workflow.
What happens when a visitor fails a background check and/or sex offender screening through the contactless sign in experience?
Upon a failed background check and/or sex offender screening, a visitor will receive a message on their mobile device stating “An error occurred while processing your visitor record. Please see a facility employee before proceeding”.
Will notifications be sent upon a failed background check and/or sex offender screening through a contactless sign in?
Yes. Applicable Rule notifications configured for the kiosk will be sent during a contactless sign in.
Upon a failed background check and/or sex offender screening, will a Void badge be printed just like the kiosk sign in process?
No. If the visitor fails a background check through a contactless sign in, they will receive an error message stating “An error occurred while processing your visitor record. Please see a facility employee before proceeding”.
Should Registered Visitors check in through the contactless sign in process?
No. Employees and frequent visitors who have a registered keytag or ID should continue to sign in at the kiosk by scanning the barcode.
Should Scheduled Visitors check in through the contactless sign in process?
No. Scheduled visitors should continue to sign in at the kiosk by scanning their email barcode.
Is Contactless Sign In supported during a scheduled event?
No. Contactless Sign In is not supported during Event Mode. The QR code will not be displayed on the kiosk start screen during an event.
Visitors who are not attending the event can continue to scan a printed QR code to complete a contactless sign in. The visitor badge will print at the kiosk.
Does Contactless Sign In support Passport scanning?
No. Passport scanning is not supported during the Contactless Sign In process. If you request visitors scan a passport, please have them continue to sign in at the kiosk.
Will the visitor input the name of the person they are visiting during Contactless Sign In?
Yes. If enabled in the workflow, the visitor will be asked to type in the person’s full name. Choosing a name from a list is currently not supported in Contactless Sign In.
Will Directory notifications be sent during Contactless Sign In?
Yes. Email and/or text notifications will be sent if there is an exact match on the person’s name in a Directory with manually entered entries.
Directories using Active Directory or LDAP integration are not supported in Contactless Sign In. No notifications will be sent to these directory members.
Are Directories that use Active Directory and LDAP/LDAPS supported?
No. Directories using Active Directory or LDAP/LDAPS integration are not supported in Contactless Sign In. This affects the following workflow options:
- “Visitor name must match name in directory”
- “ID must match an ID from the following list”
Visitors will not be able to complete a contactless sign in if these options are turned on in a workflow and have an affected Directory selected. Visitors will be directed to see a facility employee and should sign in at the kiosk.
