The information your LobbyGuard product collects on every visitor is monitored and those with proper user authority can generate a variety of reports, reviews of traffic patterns, etc. Due to the sensitive nature of what LobbyGuard offers- background checks and personal data collection, we require hardwiring the LobbyGuard machine with an Ethernet cable and avoiding using Wi-Fi networks. If your LobbyGuard product location permits you from using an Ethernet connection, we recommend disabling the SSID broadcast on your Wi-Fi network to ensure it’s only being accessed by your LobbyGuard product. Outline below are LobbyGuard’s minimal network requirements that should be met at all times to avoid any interruptions in service:
If you would like to conduct a speed test on the LobbyGuard machine, you will need to exit out of the LobbyGuard software. To do this, please follow the steps below:
Access the kiosk control panel by touching the upper right corner of the sign in screen
Enter your administrator password and press OK
From the kiosk control panel, select Exit to Desktop
Open up any web browser of your choice and in the address bar type in http://speedtest.net/, and select “Go” when the website fully loads. We would ask to run this test multiple times to better gauge the speed times of the network.
The ping test is the reaction time of your network connection- how fast you get a response after you’ve sent out a request. A faster ping means a more responsive connection, especially in regards to the LobbyGuard software.
The download speed is how fast you can pull data from the LobbyGuard server down to your machine.
The upload speed is how fast you are able to send data to others.
For best functionality with the LobbyGuard System, we would ask:
- Ping times must be below 100ms
- Download Speeds must be at least 10 Mbps
- Upload Speeds must be at least 1.5 Mbps
If network speeds are not meeting the minimum requirements, please contact your local IT department. LobbyGuard Support is also available from 7 AM – 6 PM EST Mon-Fri if any additional assistance is needed.
If your network does in fact meet this minimal requirements and your LobbyGuard product is experiencing slow performance only at certain times of the day you can run an infinite PING in the background to capture any dropped packets by running the PING test from the command prompt. To run an infinite ping test, please open the cmd prompt and type in: ping google.com –t
